What should I bring with me to Western?
Along with your computer and network card, it is very important to bring along your Windows Operating System discs. If you encounter technical difficulties while at Western, it may be very important that you have your Operating System discs with you. You should also bring an Ethernet cable with you, to connect in the Bed and Breakfast room.
What do I do when I arrive?
You can request Internet access at the residence front desk, at which time you will fill out a "Temporary User Account" ID form. By signing this form you agree to the terms of the University of Western Ontario Acceptable Use Policy. This ID will allow you access to RezNet, wireless on campus, and the campus and residence mini lab computers. You will be asked to show Photo ID when you fill out the Temporary User Account form. A network cable and the RezNet Installation Instructions[PDF] will be also provided to you at the front desk.
Is there any help available?
You will receive a copy of the RezNet connection instructions upon your arrival and it has been our experience that most subscribers are able to get themselves connected. However, should you experience difficulties with your installation, simply contact your front desk and they will arrange to have a RezNet technician either call or visit you, to help resolve your problem. Should you wish to request help directly from a RezNet technician, please complete the RezNet Assistance Request Form. RezNet technicians are usually available Monday to Friday, during daytime business hours.
